UEFA: "Unstoppable" - a strategic plan providing €1bn for women's football over the 2024-2030 cycle

€1bn will be devoted to women's football between now and 2030, according to UEFA, which presented its 2024-2030 strategic plan entitled "Unstoppable" on 30/10/2024.

To reach this amount, UEFA is obviously counting on the marketing of its women's competitions (mainly media rights and sponsorship) but is also considering additional investments, such as the HatTrick programme, with €66m earmarked for the development of women's football over the 2024-2028 cycle (compared with €22m over 2016-2020).

The European Confederation is pursuing four main objectives in rolling out its "Unstoppable" plan (see document available to download), "making football:
• the most-played team sport for women and girls in every European country, through developing football pathways for players, coaches and referees alongside grassroots opportunities .
• the home of the world's top players, with six fully professional leagues and 5,000 fully professional players across the continent.
• the most sustainable and investable women's sport, with record-breaking UEFA competitions
