More than 120 sustainability actions were carried out by UEFA in the context of Euro 2024, at a cost of €29.6m, which lead to UEFA "achieving 95% of its pre-tournament targets," announced the European Confederation on the occasion of the publication of its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, dedicated to the competition, on 01/11/2024.

The ESG strategy deployed by UEFA for the last Euro had three main focuses:
• environmental action, which concentrated the bulk of the resources allocated, with an investment of €27.676m;
• social action, financed to the tune of €1.055m;
• governance, with €930,000 earmarked.

In particular, the measures implemented reduced fan air travel by 75% (compared to Euro 2016), thanks in particular to the staging of group stage matches in regional hubs, as well as reducing carbon emissions by 21% compared to initial forecasts, according to the body, which will apply "the same ESG framework" at the Women's Euro 2025 and for all the finals of its competitions.
