Liga BBVA: Telefónica acquires the 2015-16 domestic audiovisual rights to FC Barcelona for €140m

FC Barcelona have sold the domestic audiovisual rights to their home games for the 2015-16 Liga BBVA, to Telefónica de Contenidos, a public limited company, which runs the pay-TV activities of the Spanish telecom group Telefónica, announced the Catalan club on 16/02/2015. The agreement also covers the operation of the club's television channel, Barça TV, awarded to Telefónica de Contenidos for an unspecified duration. Telefónica will pay €140m to FC Barcelona in 2015-16, according to the Spanish daily newspaper El Mundo on 16/02/2015.

The home games of FC Barcelona in the Liga BBVA have been broadcast by pay-TV channel Gol T (Mediapro group) from 2007-08 and will be until the end of the 2014-15 season.
