Italy: the Reggio Emilia Mapei Stadium will host the final of the 2016 Women's Champions League

The Mapei Stadium (21,500 seats), located in Reggio Emilia (ITA), will host the final of the 2015-16 UEFA Women's Champions League, announced UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), on 16/02/2015. The match will take place on 26/05/.2016.

This is will be the first time the final of the women's competition has been played in Italy. The final of the men's Champions League will be played in the San Siro Stadium (80,000 seats) in Milan, two days later, on 28/06/2016.

The Mapei Stadium "Città del Tricolore" was acquired by the Mapei Group (building materials), the owner of US Sassuolo Calcio (Serie A TIM), after a public auction at the court of Reggio Emilia, on 05/12/2013 . The ground, under a naming rights contract since July 2013, also hosts Reggiana (the club of Reggio Emilia, Serie C1, the third Italian division).
