Club World Cup 2025: players will not be able to change teams during the competition

A player will not be able to play in the 2025 Club World Cup, to be held in the United States from 15/06 to 13/07/2025, for two different clubs, even if he changes employer during the competition (contracts generally end on 30/06 and start on 01/07, according to the tournament regulations published by FIFA and reported in the Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo on 05/11/2024).

32 clubs, including 12 from Europe (see list below), will take part in the first edition of this competition (still without a broadcaster seven months before the opening match), for which they will be divided into eight groups of four teams (A to H) in a draw scheduled for early December 2024.

A special transfer window will be open for these 32 clubs from 01 to 10/06/2025, when they will have the opportunity to bring in two new players before the start of the competition. Each team will have to field between 26 and 35 players, including at least three goalkeepers.
