Olympics: the Japanese company Canon becomes the 3^rd gold partner of Tokyo 2020

Canon, a Japanese camera company, has become the third gold partner of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo, announced the organising committee on 18/02/2015. Canon will also be the official supplier of "still cameras and desktop reprographic hardware" to the event.

Canon is the third gold partner of the 2020 Olympics after the Japanese telecommunications group NTT and the beer brand Asahi. The organising committee should agree 10 gold partnerships in total.

• The IOC (International Olympic Committee) selected Tokyo as the host city for the 2020 Summer Olympics on 07/08/2013.
  • The Japanese capital prevailed over the other two cities in contention, Istanbul (TUR) and Madrid (ESP), after two rounds of voting.

Sponsorship programme of the Olympic Games

• The sponsorship programme is divided into three tiers: the highest tier is "gold partners", followed by "official partners" and finally "official supporters".
• Worldwide Olympic partners support the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and NOCs (National Olympic Committees) across the world.
