"We are ready to halt La Liga if this law is not enacted in one, two or three weeks. We have discussed it amongst ourselves us and there are clubs that agree. If the government does not act, we will consider it very seriously. We hope not to have to come to that," said Joan Collet, president of Espanyol (Liga BBVA) on 11/02/2015, regarding the royal decree that Spanish clubs are waiting for that would allow the collective bargaining for audiovisual rights to the Spanish professional competitions (Liga BBVA, Liga Adelante, Copa del Rey).

40 clubs and SADs (public limited sports companies) signed the Spanish LFP's petition asking the Spanish government to ensure the adoption of this royal decree on 06/02/2015. Collective marketing of domestic and international audiovisual rights to the Liga BBVA and the Liga Adelante are expected to take effect in 2016-17, assuming that the royal decree is approved.
