AFC Ajax: a permanent return to the old logo in 2025-26 to celebrate the club's 125^th anniversary

AFC Ajax (Eredivisie) will reintroduce its historic logo, used from 1928 to 1991, on a permanent basis from the 2025-26 season as part of its 125^th anniversary celebrations, announced the club on 17/11/2024.

The return of the logo, which will be phased in gradually across all the club's media from 2025 onwards, was celebrated during a friendly "legends" match between Ajax and Real Madrid CF (LALIGA EA Sports) at the Johan Cruijff ArenA (Amsterdam) on Sunday 17/11/2024.

"We know that the majority of our fans have cherished this wish for years, and we felt that our 125^th anniversary was the perfect moment to give back the classic logo to our fans and ourselves. Furthermore, history has shown that we are at our best when we remain true to the Ajax DNA. Bringing back the classic logo symbolizes this commitment and serves as both a tribute to our rich history and an inspiration for the future," said Menno Geelen, CEO of the Dutch club.
