Valencia CF: club's capital restructured via Goldman Sachs (€186m) to finance new stadium

Valencia CF (LALIGA EA Sports) has secured a €121m 10-year credit line and a €65m short-term loan from US bank Goldman Sachs, for total financing of €186m, announced the club on 15/11/2024.

This restructuring of the club's capital will enable the club to repay "all its existing corporate debts" (with CaixaBank, Gedesco and Rights & Media) and free itself from the mortgage on its current stadium, as well as to finalise the financing of the Nou Mestalla project with work resuming in January 2025.

Construction of the Nou Mestalla began in 2007 before being halted in February 2009 due to a lack of funding. Valencia CF had acquired the site for the new stadium in the Benicalap district from the Autonomous Community of Valencia. Valencia City Council granted the club planning permission to resume work on the stadium on 12/07/2024, subject to the provision of financial guarantees.
