France: "beIN SPORTS is the only one to broadcast Ligue 1 or Ligue 2 since 2012" (Florent Houzot)

"No channel has invested as much as beIN in French football, for either Ligue 1 or Ligue 2, except Canal+ Group. All those who have broadcast Ligue 1 or Ligue 2 since 2012 are no longer broadcasters of these competitions today: Canal+, Mediapro, Amazon, L'Équipe. The only one left is beIN," said Florent Houzot, director of broadcasting, programmes and editorial at beIN SPORTS France, to News Tank Football on 19/11/2024.

The pay-TV group holds the exclusive broadcasting rights to one game per Ligue 1 McDonald's matchday over the 2024-2029 cycle for €100m per season (including €20m in sponsorship rights). beIN also owns the full and exclusive TV rights to the Ligue 2 BKT over the same period for €40m per year. In addition to these competitions, the group also holds exclusive broadcasting rights to LALIGA EA Sports (since 2012) and the Bundesliga (until 2025).

BeIN has held exclusive TV rights to the Serie A Enilive in France since 2012, but has not extended these rights for the 2024-25 season. The L'Équipe group acquired the TV rights to two games per Serie A matchday for the 2024-25…
