FIFA: A delegation from the Council of Europe is received in Zurich to discuss governance reforms

A delegation from the Council of Europe, led by the Norwegian Thorbjorn Jagland, general secretary of that body, was received at the headquarters of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) in Zurich (SUI) by Joseph Blatter, the president of the organisation, on 17/02/2015.

"FIFA provided an update on the implementation process of the Handshake for Peace initiative and on the series of governance reforms that have been implemented in the last few years, and provided information on the host selection process for the FIFA World Cup," said FIFA on 17/02/2015.

"Other subjects addressed were the Council of Europe’s current work on the Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions and the Convention on Spectator Violence," added FIFA.
