Bundesliga: SV Werder Bremen posts revenues of €149.9m (+25%) & net profit of €2.2m in 2023-24

SV Werder Bremen (Bundesliga) has posted revenues (including transfers) of €149.9m for the 2023-24 financial year (01/07/2023 to 30/06/2024), up 25% on 2022-23 (€120.1m), announced the German club on 18/11/2024.

"The main drivers of this result were transfers (€28.5m, compared with €5.2m the previous season), TV rights, which rose by €4.6m to €42.8m, and commercial revenues, which totalled €12.9m (up €3.9m). Ticketing and merchandising revenues remained stable," said Werder Bremen.

"The increase in revenues was partly offset by a €21.7m rise in operating expenses over the past financial year, mainly due to a €14.5m increase in the wage bill," added Werder, who also posted a net profit of €2.2m, compared with a €3.8m loss the previous year.

• "Thanks to the results generated in conjunction with the involvement of the regional alliance as a strategic partner, equity amounts to €22.3m and is therefore positive again for the first time since 30/06/2019," explained the club.
