Ligue 1: "We have not appointed anyone to sell Girondins de Bordeaux " (N. Tavernost)

"We have not appointed anyone to sell Girondins de Bordeaux," said Nicolas de Tavernost, president of the M6 Group, on the occasion of the presentation of the 2014 financial results of the group on 17/02/2015. The M6 Group has owned Bordeaux (Ligue 1) since 1999. It holds 99% of the club via its subsidiary M6 Foot.

Le Journal du Dimanche reported in its 15/02/2015 edition that the Rothschild investment bank had offered the club to potential foreign investors several months ago, including "Chinese investors already very active in the vineyards of Bordeaux" and "a very wealthy American."

"Talking to people in this way is part of what banks do, but we have not appointed anybody to sell Girondins, which is not for sale," said Nicolas de Tavernost in comments to the Journal du Dimanche on 15/02/2015.
