"Processions of fans come to esports events in towns and cities across France. They stay overnight and go to restaurants. This obviously generates economic spin-offs for the host cities. These events also attract the press, with huge media coverage (digital, specialised, news programmes, etc.). For the LFL Days in Nice (organised at the Palais Nikaïa on 07 and 08/02/2024), we recorded an audience reach of over 110 million. The event also generated social reach around the destination of Nice. In terms of audiences, the LFL Days in Nice racked up 3.5 million viewers on Twitch. In the space of a week, we estimate that the event reached 130 million points of contact, enabling us to present the competition as well as showcasing Nice. The city will also be hosting the EVO, the world's biggest fighting games event, in 2025. The EVO is expected to generate 10,000 overnight stays in the city," said Bertrand Amar, head of esports at the French online leisure and entertainment group Webedia, on 20/11/2024.
