MLS: Etihad Airways (airline) acquires naming rights for New York City FC's future stadium

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has acquired the naming rights to New York City FC's (MLS) future stadium under a 20-year agreement, announced the franchise on 21/11/2024.

The agreement will commence in 2027, the year of the delivery of the stadium, currently under construction at Willets Point in Queens (New York, USA). It will be known as Etihad Park until 2046. 100% financed by private funds, the stadium will have around 25,000 seats and will be the first all-electric stadium in New York City and in the whole of Major League Soccer.

Etihad Airways has also been the main partner of the club's first team and academy since its creation in 2014.
