England/Rugby Football Union: revenues of £175m (€210m) & a £42m loss in 2023-24

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) recorded revenues of £175.2m (€210.1m at 30/06/2024) at the end of the 2023-24 financial year (01/07/2023 to 30/06/2024), down 20.8% on 2022-23 (£221.4m/€256.6m at 30/06/2023), announced the English body on 25/11/2024.

"The reduction in ticket income (£23.0m vs £48.4m) and hospitality and catering income (£48.8m vs £70.8m) are both driven by that lower number of men's home games (four in 2023-24 vs seven in 2022-23). The year-on-year reduction in broadcast revenues (£34.5m vs £40.9m) is predominantly driven by the two Rugby World Cup 2023 (organised in France) warms ups attracting a smaller fee from broadcasters than the four home Autumn Internationals the previous year," said the RFU.

"Sponsorship revenue is largely flat year on year (£25.7m vs £25.9m) as partnerships terms are typically 3-4 years. The increase in Income from subsidiaries (£18.7m vs £10.7m) is driven by increased income in England Rugby Travel who benefitted from fans travelling with them as the trusted provider for trips to the men's Rugby World Cup.
