LALIGA: a turnover of €2bn (+1.8%) & net loss of €6.3m in 2023-24

LALIGA posted a turnover of €2.033bn for the 2023-24 financial year, up 1.8% (+€35.7m) on 2022-23 (€1.997bn), as well as a net loss of €6.3m (following a profit of €12.1m) and equity of €45.6m, stated the body on its website, following approval of its annual accounts by its executive committee and by the board of directors of LALIGA Group International (the holding company responsible for developing the LALIGA Impulso strategic project, which unites the Spanish professional league with the CVC Capital Partners investment fund, which holds an 8.2% stake).

These revenues consist mainly of audiovisual rights (€1.857bn, up 1.6%), of which €1.636bn were paid to the clubs. Revenue from partnerships and licences came to €162.6m, an increase of €12.4m (+8.2%) thanks in particular to the naming agreement signed in July 2023 by LALIGA with EA Sports (a video game publisher belonging to the Electronic Arts group) for the first two Spanish divisions, renamed LALIGA EA Sports and LALIGA Hypermotion for the 2023-2028 cycle.
