France/Piracy: 56% of illegal IPTV users consume sport, including 27% specifically (Arcom)

56% of illicit IPTV users in France consume sport, 27% of whom do so specifically to watch this type of content, according to the report "Illicit audiovisual consumption on IPTV" published by Arcom on 28/11/2024.

Among the key findings of the study:
• 11% of French Internet users say they use illicit IPTV;
• the average age of illicit IPTV users is 35;
• 59% of illicit IPTV users believe that their practice is legal, while 24% know that their practice is not;
• 79% of illicit IPTV users say they intend to continue using it in the future;
• 38% of illicit IPTV users pay to use it, 32% use third-party codes and 30% access it completely free of charge.

• The study was carried out via a 15-minute self-administered online questionnaire, involving 2,600 French people aged 15 and over, from 03 to 14/06/2024.
