• Labour's John Steven Bassam, a member of the House of Lords, has introduced a bill to ban state ownership of any English clubs, targeting Manchester City FC (indirectly owned by the United Arab Emirates) and Newcastle United FC (Saudi Arabia).
• The airline Emirates, main shirt sponsor of AC Milan (Serie A Enilive), has unveiled a livery in the club's colours to celebrate its 125th anniversary.
• British-Iranian businessman Farhad Moshiri, owner of Everton FC (Premier League), via Blue Heaven Holdings Limited, has undertaken to convert his £451m (€541m) shareholder loan into shares in the club if the sale to the Friedkin Group (USA), announced on 23/09/2024, does not go through by 11/01/2025, according to British newspaper The Guardian. This decision would be explained by the Premier League's new rules on transactions between associated parties ("Associated Party Transaction Rules").
• AS Roma (Serie A Enilive) posted a net loss of €81.4m at the end of the 2023-24 financial year (-€102.7m in 2022-23).
