Italy: launch of a dedicated Serie BKT channel on Amazon Prime Video

The Lega Serie B has launched a channel dedicated to broadcasting Serie BKT matches on the Amazon Prime Video platform in Italy, announced the Italian league on 03/12/2024. The league had previously obtained authorisation from AGCOM to publish its own audiovisual service on the internet.

All matches are available via the channel. A Prime Video subscription is required (€49.9 per year or €4.99 per month), as is a subscription to the channel via Prime Video Channels (€9.99 per month). "For Lega Serie B, this is another piece of innovation in the world of media rights, achieved with great commitment and in a short space of time, to provide fans with a new tool for following the league and their favourite team," explained the body.

The OTT platform DAZN also holds the full domestic broadcasting rights to the Serie BKT for the 2024-2027 cycle. DAZN is said to have obtained these rights for €13m per season, according to the Italian business daily Sole 24 Ore.
