Basketball: Abu Dhabi to host the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four for €50m (press)

Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) has been awarded the right to host the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four, according to information published on 03/12/2024 by Eurohoops, the official media partner of Euroleague Basketball. The Emirati capital was preferred to Belgrade (SRB), the only other candidate city.

This decision was ratified on 02/12/2024 at a meeting of the shareholders of Euroleague Commercial Assets, the commercial company responsible for developing the competition, and should enable it to receive €50m from the rights to host the event. 11 of the 13 decision-making clubs are said to be in favour of this option, which was rejected by Real Madrid Baloncesto and Olympiacos BC.

The four games involved (semi-finals, third-place play-off and the final) will be held at the Etihad Arena (18,000 capacity) from 23 to 25/05/2025. This is the first time that a Final Four has been staged outside Europe, with the exception of the 2024 edition, which was held in Tel Aviv, Israel (Maccabi Tel Aviv being one of the competition's 13 shareholder clubs).
