ECA: a growth in membership & an increase in solidarity payments on the list of achievements in 2024

The European Club Association board met for the last time this year on 03/12/2024 in Budapest (Hungary) to take stock of the past 12 months, which have seen its membership grow to 728, an increase of 66% in one year, according to the association, which describes itself as "the sole representative body of football clubs in Europe."

Among the other achievements the ECA is delighted with for 2024:
• the continued collaboration with the European Confederation through their joint venture (UEFA Club Competitions SA) "giving ECA Members a true partnership with UEFA in shaping the commercial future of the competitions". The memorandum of understanding between the two organisations was extended until 2033 on 09/10/2024.
• the role it played in supporting the reform of UEFA's men's (2024-2027) and women's (2025-2030) club competitions, the success of which "has led to greater club, fan and community engagement."
• the increase in solidarity payments from the 2024-25 season, including €308m for clubs not taking part in the European Cups (i.e. 7% of the revenue generated, compared with 4% in the…
