UK: Sky extends its rights to the Football League for a season, until the end of 2018-19

The British pay-TV group Sky plc. extended its broadcasting rights to the Sky Bet Football League (2nd, 3rd and 4th British divisions, 72 clubs) in the United Kingdom by a year on 19/02/2015. The current agreement between the two parties, which expires at the end of the 2017-18 season, has been extended until the end of 2018-19 and the Football League has an option to extend it again until at the end of 2019-20.

As with the 2013-2018 period, the agreement covers live broadcasts, each season, of 148 matches from the Sky Bet Football League, the Capital One Cup, and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy (3rd and 4th English divisions) on the pay-TV channels of Sky Sports as well as highlights and clips of all the matches of the three competitions. These rights are valid for TV, Internet, the video on demand service "Sky On Demand" and on mobile platforms.
