FC Bayern Munich: M. Diederich elected to the DFL executive committee to replace J-C. Dreesen

Michael Diederich, chief financial officer at FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga), has been elected to the Deutsche Fußball Liga's executive committee by the assembly of the 18 German top flight clubs, announced the DFL on 05/12/2024.

The man who is also executive vice chairman of the Bavarian club will replace Jan-Christian Dreesen, CEO and chairman of the club's board of directors, on the body. Dreesen, who was granted an early extension until 30/06/2027 by unanimous decision of the Bayern supervisory board on 11/11, had announced that he would be stepping down from his eight-year position at the DFL on 15/11/2024.

"After careful consideration, I have decided to resign from my position on the DFL executive committee. The increased demands of my role as CEO of FC Bayern Munich and my international duties as vice chair of the European Club Association (ECA) require my full attention.
