Udinese Calcio: Udine city council approves Bluenergy Stadium development project

Udine city council (Friuli-Venezia Giulia, ITA) has given the go-ahead to Udinese Calcio (Serie A Enilive) for its "Stadio 2.0" project to develop the Bluenergy Stadium (25,132 capacity) announced the club on 03/12/2024.

The redevelopment will cover 20,000 square metres of the stadium, owned by the club, which wants to create catering facilities, a shopping area (1,500 m2), a sports centre with a swimming pool, offices, a hotel and the new Friuli-Venezia Giulia Sports Museum. "The aim is an ambitious one: to turn the stadium - which already leads the way in Italy for energy sustainability and fan experience - into a centre with a wealth of year-round services offering exceptional benefits for the entire city and the wider region," explained Udinese Calcio.

Bluenergy Stadium "already hosts over 150 events per year. Thanks to a modern, multi-purpose design, it has been able to stage many big sports events, such as international matches for the Italy football and rugby teams."
