Manchester City FC: fans invited to design the 2026-27 Puma third kit using an AI platform

Manchester City FC (Premier League) and its German equipment supplier Puma have launched an AI platform for fans to create the 2026-27 third kit, announced the club on 09/12/2024.

Fans must use a short text prompt and customisation tools to create a kit on the platform, named Puma AI Creator. The winning design will be worn by the club's first team and marketed, "a groundbreaking first for a professional football club," said MCFC. By registering on the platform, fans will receive free "design credits" and can unlock more by rating other fans' creations.

Fans have until 20/12/2024 to submit their designs, before they are evaluated by "kit experts" from Puma and Manchester City. The ten best designs will be selected and the public will be able to choose the shirt of their choice in January 2025, which will not be revealed until 2026.
