Formula 1: 80 million dedicated posts on social media during the 2024 season (-20% vs 2023)

The 2024 Formula 1 season (races, qualifying and driver transfers) generated "nearly 80 million" messages on social media, 20% fewer than in 2023 (100 million posts), according to a study published by Visibrain, a social network monitoring and analysis tool, on 05/12/2024.

"Grand Prix weekends are among the most eagerly awaited moments for internet users on social networks, with an average of more than 3.6 million messages exchanged per event" in 2024, according to Visibrain. In terms of direct mentions, the Miami Grand Prix (1.6 million posts) is ahead of Sao Paulo (1.6 million) and Las Vegas (1.3 million). Note that the report does not take into account the Abu Dhabi GP, the last of the season, held on 08/12/2024.

Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team is the most mentioned team in 2024 (18.1 million posts), ahead of Scuderia Ferrari HP (13.9 million) and the team of world champion Max Verstappen (NED), Oracle Red Bull Racing (10.7 million).
