Stade de France concession: French government in "exclusive negotiations" with GL events (events)

"After an in-depth analysis of the bids received, in accordance with the criteria defined in the consultation, it has been decided to continue the procedure by opening a period of exclusive negotiation with the leading bidder," announced the French Ministry of Sport, Youth and the Voluntary Sector in a press release entitled "Update on the procedure for renewing the concession to operate the Stade de France (Saint-Denis, FRA)", on 10/12/2024.

The two bids in the running are from GL events (events) and the Vinci-Bouygues consortium (construction), which has held the current concession contract since 1995 and which expires in August 2025. Although the identity of the project with which discussions are continuing has not been revealed by the MSJVA, it is believed to be that of GL events, according to information from RMC Sport confirmed by L'Équipe.
