Vivendi: shareholders approve Canal+ and Havas "spin-off project"

"The combined general shareholders meeting of Vivendi, held today under the chairmanship of Yannick Bolloré, approved by more than 97.5% of the votes the separation from Vivendi of Canal+, Havas and Louis Hachette Group (the company bringing together the 66.53% investment in Lagardère and 100% of Prisma Media)," announced the French media and entertainment group on 11/12/2024.

On 13/12/2023 Vivendi had announced that it was studying "a project to split the company into several entities in order to fully unleash the development potential of all its activities". This plan to be listed on the stock market is structured around the pay-TV and free-TV group Canal+ and the communications group Havas, which are 100% owned by Vivendi, and the Louis Hachette Group. The latter comprises Vivendi's publishing and distribution assets, i.e. its shareholdings in the Lagardère and Prisma Media groups.
