FIFA: 2030 World Cup in Spain, Portugal & Morocco, 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia

Spain, Portugal and Morocco will be hosting the 24^th World Cup from 13/06 to 21/07/2030. However, the first three of the 104 matches will take place in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay on 08 and 09/06/2030 to celebrate the Centenary of this competition (first held in Uruguay in 1930), as was decided by acclamation by the Extraordinary FIFA Congress held online on 11/12/2024.

"With a World Cup to be played in six countries, on three continents, with 48 teams and 104 matches, the world will stop breathing to celebrate the Centenary of the World Cup in 2030," said Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, in his preamble.

This same vote by acclamation (the 211 national member associations were connected at the time) awarded Saudi Arabia, the sole candidate, the hosting of the 25^th World Cup, in 2034. Saudi Arabia will thus be the first country to host a World Cup, with 48 teams and 104 matches, on its own (first edition in 2026 in the United States, Mexico and Canada, see below).
