RFEF: Rafael Louzán elected president of the Spanish Federation until 2028 with 65.2% of the votes

Rafael Louzán Abal has been elected president of the Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol for the 2024-2028 cycle after obtaining 90 votes out of 138, or 65.2% of the votes cast, at the elective general assembly held at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas (north-west of Madrid) on 16/12/2024, announced the RFEF the same day.

The President of the Royal Galician Football Federation (since 19/12/2014) beat Salvador Gomar, president of the Valencian Football Federation, who received 43 votes. He succeeds Pedro Rocha, interim president of the RFEF since 26/08/2023, then elected on 26/04/2024, but suspended by the Sports Administrative Court (TAD, Tribunal Administrativo del Deporte) for two years on 16/07/2024 for having overstepped his duties, in particular when he dismissed Andreu Camps, former secretary general of the Federation.
