Genoa CFC: Dan Sucu (ROU) new owner (77%) after €45.356m capital increase

Romanian entrepreneur Dan Sucu has become the owner of Genoa CFC (Serie A Enilive) after acquiring 77% of the club via a €45.356m capital increase, announced the Italian club on 18/12/2024.

The deal, which includes a free capital increase of €5.356m in addition to the €40m invested, was approved by Genoa's board of directors on 14/12/2024. The US strategic insurance investment company A-Cap, the main creditor of US investment fund 777 Partners, which declared bankruptcy in July 2024 and recovered its assets, including Genoa, thus retains a 23% minority stake in the club.

"The club expects Dan Sucu's management to bring greater financial stability, strategic investment and long-term growth, which will benefit both the team and its facilities," added Genoa CFC, which posted a net loss of €32.5m at 31/12/2023.
