Japan: MP & Silva acquires the 2015-2018 rights to the Bundesliga from Fox in a sublicense deal

The international media rights agency MP & Silva has acquired the exclusive distribution rights to the 2015-2018 cycle of the Bundesliga (German first division) in Japan, announced the agency on 23/02/2015. The rights were acquired from the US media company FIC (Fox International Channels), a subsidiary of the conglomerate 21st Century Fox, which holds the media rights to the Bundesliga from 2015 until 2020 in 80 countries in Europe (including Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium), North America, South America, and most of Asia.

MP & Silva holds the exclusive distribution rights to the Bundesliga in Japan for the 2012-2015 cycle. The 2015-18 audiovisual rights to the Bundesliga apply to all broadcast platforms: television (cable, satellite, terrestrial), Internet, IPTV, and mobile devices. They relate to live broadcasts and replays of Bundesliga matches, relegation play-offs, the German Super Cup (a pre-season game between the reigning champion of the Bundesliga and the last winner of the DFB Cup), as well as highlights of all these matches.
