International transfers: $709.6m in agent fees in 2024 (FIFA report)

In 2024, clubs paid $709.6m (€683.3m on 19/12/2024) in agent fees, the second highest amount ever, down 20.2% on the record $889.5m set in 2023, according to FIFA, which published its annual report on football agents (document available to download) "an extensive analysis of football agents' activity in international transfers" on 19/12/2024. This study only concerns international transfers and not transactions between clubs in the same country.

Other key figures in the FIFA Football Agents Report include:
• the amounts committed by European clubs represent 85% of total expenditure;
• English clubs were by far the biggest spenders, with a total of $193m (€185.8m), or 27% of the overall amount;
• women's professional football clubs spent $3.1m (€2.98m) on agent commissions, 2.2 times more than the previous record set in 2023 ($1.4m).
