USA: Netflix acquires TV rights for the 2027 & 2031 editions of the FIFA Women's World Cup

The streaming platform Netflix has acquired the exclusive full US broadcast rights to the Women's World Cup 2027 (hosted by Brazil) and the Women's World Cup 2031 (not yet awarded), announced FIFA on 20/12/2024.

"The FIFA Women's World Cup will be the first competition to be acquired in full by Netflix, which further reinforces the tournament's status as the single biggest women's sporting event on the planet and provides an outstanding platform to further promote the game. In addition to offering live coverage, Netflix will produce exclusive documentary series in the lead-up to both tournaments, spotlighting the world’s top players, their journeys and the global growth of women's football," said the body.

The Women's World Cup 2023 was broadcast in the United States by Fox (English language) and Telemundo (Spanish language, owned by the American broadcasting group NBCUniversal).
