England: Debbie Hewitt re-elected as chair of The Football Association until 2028

Debbie Hewitt has been unanimously re-elected as non-executive chair of The Football Association, by the board, from January 2025 until January 2028, announced the governing body for English football on 20/12/2024.

Hewitt who became the first female chair of The Football Association in January 2022 will now serve a second three-year term. Her re-election "is subject to FA Shareholder ratification, which will be sought at the 2025 AGM in May (2025)."

"During her time as chair, Debbie has had a transformative impact on our governance structure, including introducing extensive reforms to the FA Board and FA Council to ensure they can better serve the modern game, as well as working with stakeholders to improve the governance structures that support the women's game," explained The FA, about Hewitt who is also a vice-president at FIFA.
