Sport Club Corinthians Paulista (Serie A Brazil) will install a standing platform in one corner of the Arena Corinthians (47,000 seats) on 18/02/2015.

The stadium, which notably hosted the opening match of the 2014 World Cup (Brazil - Croatia, 3-1, on 12/06/2014) and the semi-final between Netherlands - Argentina (0-0, 2-4 on penalties on 09/07/2014), had its capacity reduced from 65,800 to 47,000 seats after the competition, consistent with the project plans of the enclosure. The upper deck of the North Stand was removed.

The São Paulo based club (population 11,822,000) expects to increase capacity by 1,600 with the removal of the North Stand seating in favour of a standing platform. The North Stand hosts supporters' groups of the club. Corinthians received an average of 29,195 spectators per match during the Brazilian Serie A championship in 2014.
