UK: BT Sport acquires the exclusive rights to the Serie A TIM for 2015-18 cycle from MP & Silva

The British telecom group BT has acquired the exclusive distribution rights to the Serie A TIM in the United Kingdom for the 2015-2018 period, announced the group, which owns the pay-TV channel BT Sport, on 25/02/2015. The rights were acquired from the media rights agency MP & Silva, which distributes the 2015-18 international media rights to the Italian first division.

Neither the amount of the contract nor the other distribution platforms (other than TV) to which the rights apply were specified. BT currently has the exclusive distribution rights in the United Kingdom to the Serie A for the 2012-2015 period (the 2012-13 season was broadcast on ESPN, the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons were broadcast on the BT Sport channels).

• International (outside of Italy) distribution of the 2015-2018 audiovisual rights to the Serie A was assigned to the media rights agency MP & Silva, by the Lega Serie A, the professional league that manages the Italian first division, on 20/10/2014.
