Europa League: Fiorentina without a single Italian player eliminates Tottenham without an English player

No Italian players were included in the starting lineup of ACF Fiorentina (Serie A TIM) against Tottenham Hotspur FC (Barclays Premier League), who themselves did not select any English players in their starting 11 for the the Round of 32 Europa League match (Fiorentina won 2-0, 3-1 on aggregate), on 26/02/2015.

Together, the two teams had a total of 15 nationalities. Spain and Argentina were the best represented countries with three players apiece. Europe was the best represented continent (14 players), followed by South America (6) and Africa (2).

Micah Richards, the only English player on the pitch at kickoff, was selected for Fiorentina.

• The only players of Italian or English nationality (except Micah Richards) to have played in the game came on as subsitutes: Alberto Aquilani and Manuel Pasqual (ITA) for Fiorentina, Harry Kane, Andros Townsend and Kyle Walker (ENG) for Tottenham Hotspur.
