The Dutch international Memphis Depay (21 years old, 13 caps, 2 goals) has become the new ambassador of Under Armour, announced the American sports equipment brand on 27/02/2015.

The PSV Eindhoven (Eredivisie, the Netherlands) player had been linked with the German brand adidas until now. Memphis Depay becomes the top brand ambassador for football for Under Armour, which is also linked with Tottenham Hotspur FC (Barclays Premier League). Under Armour wants to expand into the European market and plans to open stores in major European cities during 2015.

Under Armour revenues were up 32% compared to 2013 to a total of $3.08bn (€2.75bn). 93% of its turnover was from the US market in 2014 (€2.5bn).

  • Under Armour has overtaken adidas in the US market, and is now in second place behind Nike.
