England: Football League clubs consider allowing Premier League B teams in Johnstone's Paint Trophy

Clubs in the Football League (organiser of the English second, third, and fourth divisions) are considering allowing Premier League B teams teams in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy competition (cup competition for League One and League Two, the English third and fourth divisions), according to reporting from the BBC on 02/03/2015.

The majority of League One and League Two teams are said to be considering the idea, though, as yet, no formal proposal has been announced. Greg Dyke, the chairman of the FA (English Football Association), had proposed integrating Premier League B teams into the Football League pyramid in May 2014, but this idea was not favoured by the majority of English lower division clubs.
