Twitter: Liga BBVA becomes second league to top 1 million followers, after the Premier League

@LaLiga, the Twitter account of the LFP (Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional, the Spanish Professional Football League), which offers Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante (Spanish second division) news content, has over one million followers on Twitter, announced the organisation on 27/02/2015.

Among the Top 5 European leagues, the Liga BBVA is the second to reach the one million mark, after the Barclays Premier League, which had 7.88 million followers on 04/03/2015.

• On the LFP's account, tweets are published in two languages, English and Spanish.
• The Serie A TIM account is run in a similar method, alternating between Italian and English.
• The Bundesliga and Ligue 1 have separate, specific Twitter accounts in English.
