Germany: 2014-15 DFB Pokal cup final to be the first match in the country with goal-line technology

The final of the 2014-15 DFB Pokal (German Cup), on 30/05/2015 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin (GER), will be the first match in Germany to use goal-line technology, stated the DFB (Deutscher Fußball-Bund, the German Football Association) on 08/03/2015.

"After the league decided to implement goal-line technology (announced on 04/12/2014), we have now advocated its use before the start of the new (2015-16) season. The DFB is now working with the Berlin stadium operators for the technical implementation (of the Hawk-Eye system)," stated Peter Frymuth, a board member of the DFB, on 08/03/2015.

• For the 2015-16 DFB Pokal competition, "it has been decided to use the technology when it is available (in the host stadiums). The date from which the technology will be mandatory in the competition has not yet been decided," stated Peter Frymuth on 08/03/2015.
