MLS: average attendance of 25,838 for the first matchday of 2015, including 62,510 in Orlando

The first matchday of the 2015 MLS season (Major League Soccer, USA-CAN) hosted 25,838 spectators on average for the 10 games played on 06, 07 and 08/03/2015.

The fixture between the two new franchises in the league in 2015, Orlando City SC and New York City FC (1-1), drew 62,510 spectators at the Citrus Bowl (capacity 62,510 in soccer configuration), a stadium dedicated to American football, on 08/03/2015. The DC United - Montreal Impact fixture (1-0 on 07/03/2015) had the lowest attendance with 11,549 spectators.

  • According the Washington Post newspaper, a winter storm on the east coast of the United States negatively affected attendance for the DC United - Montreal Impact and Philadelphia Union - Colorado Rapids matches on 07/03/2015.
