Transfers: Southampton FC have the most profitable academy since 2012, French Ligue 1 leads Top 5

Southampton FC (Barclays Premier League) is the club that has generated the most revenue (€90.2m) in the transfer of players trained at the club since 2012, or six transfer periods, according to a study by the CIES Football Observatory (International Centre for Sports Studies) published on 09/03/2015.

In total, the clubs involved in the European Top 5 leagues have accumulated a total €1.07bn in transfer revenue from the sale of players formed in their training centres since July 2012. The French Ligue 1 has the highest cumulative total amongst the Top 5 leagues since July 2012, with €292m in transfer revenue from the sale of players formed in their training centres.
