France: deaths of F. Arthaud, C. Muffat and A. Vastine a "dark day for French sport" (M. Platini)

"I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the three French sporting greats that were Florence Arthaud, Camille Muffat and Alexis Vastine. Like millions of French people, I admired all three of them. My thoughts are with their loved ones on this dark day for French sport, and also with the families and friends of the seven other victims of this tragic and terrible accident," said Michel Platini, the president of UEFA on 10/03/2015.

The sailor Florence Arthaud, the swimmer Camille Muffat and the boxer Alexis Vastine were among the 10 victims of a helicopter crash that occurred on 09/03/2015 in Argentina, on the set of the French TV channel TF1's reality TV show "Dropped".

• The players and staff of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1) will wear a black armband on their left arms as a sign of support for the families for the Round of 16 of the Champions League against Chelsea FC (Barclays Premier League) at Stamford Bridge (London, ENG) on 11/03/2015 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).
