UEFA: strengthened anti-doping measures to come into effect for the 2015/16 season

The UEFA medical committee has approved plans to intensify its anti-doping programme, the European body announced on 13/03/2015. The measures will come into effect for all UEFA competitions, including the Champions League, the Europa League, the European Championship, and women's and youth competitions, for the 2015/16 season.

The plans include measures such as a steroid profiling programme to help detect the use of steroids over longer time periods, an "Athlete Biological Passport" -- which will monitor players over time and will help reveal the effects of doping -- as well as extensive out-of-competition testing.
