Shirt-embedded cameras: Telefonica (telecom), as well as Iniesta and Ibaka, invest in First V1sion

The Spanish telecom group Telefonica has invested €60,000, through its startup incubator Wayra, to acquire a 7% stake in the Spanish company First V1sion on 16/03/2015. First V1sion manufactures mini-cameras which are "wearable" -- imbedded into sports shirts -- that can film in HD and transmit a video stream that can be captured remotely, allowing fans to "see and hear everything the players do live, with no cuts, no delays and in high definition," said the company.

The Spanish startup, which was founded in 2013, also has the Spanish sportsmen Andres Iniesta (FC Barcelona, Liga BBVA) and Serge Ibaka (Oklahoma City Thunder, NBA) among its shareholders, and has launched a public subscription on the crowdfunding platform BnkToTheFuture.com to raise €2.5m by 11/04/2015. First V1sion hopes to attract about 5,000 individual investors (minimum contribution: €61). The startup had raised nearly €270,000 on the platform as of 17/03/2015 (the money is only made available if the €1m is reached).
