The airline industry is the largest sponsor of Top 5 clubs, with €142.5m in shirt sponsorship contracts for the 2014-15 season. Airlines are the main contracts in both the Liga BBVA and Ligue 1.

Emirates airline (UAE) is the shirt sponsor of a club in each league's Top 5: Real Madrid CF (Liga BBVA), Arsenal FC (Barclays Premier League), AC Milan (Serie A TIM), Hamburger SV (Bundesliga), and Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1)

In number of contracts, the food industry is the most represented in the Top 5 leagues in 2014-15 (13 clubs). The automobile sector is second with 12 clubs, and the financial services / insurance sector is third with 11 clubs sponsored.
