Premier League: BT becomes the communications provider of Queens Park Rangers

The British telecommunications group BT has become a partner of Queens Park Rangers FC (Barclays Premier League), announced the club on 19/03/2015. The contract covers at least the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.

QPR is the first British club to become a commercial partner of BT Sport. The telecom company will provide its network connection services to the club. Both parties will produce exclusive content for fans. The BT logo will be visible on the headrests in the dugout as well as on the advertising boards at matches at Loftus Road (18,000 seats) from the 2015-16 season.

QPR could face a £50m fine from the Football League

  • Queens Park Rangers could be fined more than £50m (about €68.3m) by the Football League (English second, third, and fourth divisions) for breaching Financial Fair Play rules in England.
    • However, the club cannot be forced to pay a fine while still playing in the Premier League.
